Fincas in Cundinamarca — Girardot, Anapoima, Ricaurte and More
The tierra caliente (the hot lowlands, roughly 300 to 1,000 m above sea level) southwest of the capital is the closest area with fincas with pools. A finca is a country house rented whole for a group or a family. The towns are Girardot, Anapoima, Ricaurte, La Mesa and, across the line in the department (state) of Tolima, Melgar and Carmen de Apicalá. As of September 24, 2026, the median price per night in these towns is COP 850,000, based on 176 rental listings published on Finkeros.
How much does a finca in the tierra caliente cost?
Half of the 176 listings fall between COP 587,500 and COP 1,260,000 per night. By town:

These are asking prices, not booked prices, and they don't separate seasons. We exclude listings under COP 150,000 because they are almost always priced per person. Ricaurte, Tocaima and Carmen de Apicalá have fewer than ten listings each.
Two different corridors
The highway corridor leaves Bogotá to the south, passes through Chusacá, Fusagasugá and Chinauta, and drops down to Melgar and Girardot. Melgar (about 320 m above sea level) sits on the highway, on the Tolima side. Carmen de Apicalá is about twenty minutes from Melgar. Girardot (about 290 m above sea level) and Ricaurte, across the Magdalena River, end the route.
The La Mesa corridor leaves to the west, through Mosquera, and descends through La Mesa (about 1,300 m above sea level), Anapoima (about 700 m) and Tocaima to Girardot. Anapoima has the highest median among the towns with ten or more listings. La Mesa is milder and has the lowest median of the four towns in the table.
What to do in the area
Girardot has a riverside promenade on the Magdalena. The Piscilago water park is on the highway, in Nilo, near Melgar. The local food is Magdalena-valley cooking: river fish, lechona (whole roast pig stuffed with rice) and tamales.
Getting there
Melgar and Girardot are reached on the Bogotá-Girardot highway, which has tolls along the way. Anapoima and La Mesa, on the Mosquera-La Mesa road. Buses to Girardot and Melgar leave frequently from Bogotá's Terminal del Sur (south bus station).
What they won't tell you
On a puente festivo (a long weekend: Colombia moves most public holidays to the following Monday, so about 18 times a year all of Bogotá drives out at once), the Bogotá-Girardot highway can take 4 to 5 hours, especially on the Monday return. Leaving before 6 a.m. or heading back after 9 p.m. changes the trip. And in December and during Semana Santa (Holy Week, the week before Easter and the busiest of the year), the prices in the table don't apply: expect a minimum number of nights and rates above the listed price.
