What weather to expect month by month?
The 26 °C (79 °F) average stays fairly steady throughout the year. What changes is the rain: it peaks between April and May, and again between October and November. December, January and July are the driest months and also the busiest.
That climate is Anapoima's real selling point. You can be in the sun at noon without desperately looking for shade, and at night you can sleep without air conditioning. In Girardot neither is true.
What they won't tell you
The road from Bogotá through La Mesa is slower than the map suggests. It winds nonstop from Mosquera and does not let you drive fast. Anyone traveling with kids who get carsick knows it. Two and a half hours is realistic, three on a weekend.
Second: much of what is on offer in Anapoima is houses inside gated communities. That means a spotless pool and security, but also rules: pool hours, noise restrictions after a certain time and a maximum number of visitors. If the plan is a celebration for twenty people, confirm it before you wire the anticipo (the deposit).
Third: the price per person does not always favor Anapoima. For large groups, the same money goes further in Melgar or toward Apulo.
